Saint Jean Pied de Port – My Favourite Town!

Glorious Day to Sight-See, Relax, and Prepare for My Journey!

This year I arrived in Saint Jean Pied de Port  via rail from Bordeaux, France. It was quite different from taking the bus from Pamplona, Spain as I did two years ago. All that really matters is that you get here, not how you get here!

Today was a day for me to thoroughly enjoy exploring my favourite town and actually having the time to do it.  Last time I arrive and started my trek the next morning.  I only had a few hours to look around . This year I have two days because I really like this town. I really like the feel of it, and I really like the energy that it exudes!

While I was exploring and taking the photographs (that I’m showing you below), I also had lots of time to think. I thought hard about the challenge that faces me in a day and a half!

I will write more about that tomorrow, but for tonight I want you to enjoy the photos of one of my favourite little mountain towns in France.  I am going to bed really early and hopefully getting a good nights sleep.

The Mountains Surrounding the Town – Gorgeous but they deserve respect!

MY FAVOURITE BRIDGES BY THE RIVER

Today I walked a total of  16,100 steps according to my fit bit.  I’d like to add that most of those steps were uphill !

KEEP WALKING!
