Do You Pay Attention to The Little Things Around You?
Are You Relaxed Enough to Do So?
Every morning I wake up and glance out my window to see the sun rise over Lake Ontario.
I find that I feel the most relaxed and calm when I take time to observe what is around me.
Try it! Look around you, see what’s there, and enjoy it.
Do you do that? Or are you too focused on the daily tasks, work, etc.?
Take time, look around, enjoy what you see, slow down and enjoy the small things around you that life often makes you overlook! I am always astonished at how this same scene differs daily! This is why I like hiking. I am able to look at the same scene and never see it the same way twice. It becomes very therapeutic and calming.
Below, is an example of what I mean. These are all photos of the sunrise over the lake from my balcony. I always photograph what I see from the same place. I just love how the difference in sunrise time, seasons, light, and weather affect the outcome of the morning sunrise.
Look at what I would be missing if I simply thought to myself the sunrise is just the sunrise? It truly is not. I noticed that after I started hiking around my neighbourhood, I began to see that no scene looked the same on different days, in different times of the day, and in different seasons. I think once I noticed that, I really started to pay attention and was able to see the beauty in the simplest of things.
The next time you go for a walk, note the time of day and the weather. Do the same exact walk another time of day or in different weather and note the differences. I am sure you will appreciate it more!

Those are beautiful sun rises Dan. I love this time of the year. My flowers are planted and now to keep them healthy during the summer heat. My favorite time is the morning, having coffee and watering the plants 😘
