Another Different Camino Hike is Completed!

Pride and Jubilation in Santiago de Compostela, Spain!

On May 1, 2019, I left Toronto to begin 2 Hiking Adventures in Spain and Portugal.

I began this adventure touring Bilbao, San Sebastián, Lugo, and climbing San Juan de Gatztelugatxe (film set from The Game of Thrones)!

After touring, I began my hiking trips with a few days in Madrid and Porto thrown in between!

Hike #1 – Part of The Camino Frances – Lugo to Sarria to Santiago de Compostela.

Lugo to Sarria to Santiago de Compostela, Spain = 143 Km
Lugo to Sarria to Santiago de Compostela, Spain = 143 Km

Hike #2 –  The Camino Portuguese (Coastal Route) – Porto to Santiago de Compostela.

Porto, Portugal to Santiago de Compostela, Spain = 272 Km

Today, June 09, 2019, I hiked into Santiago de Compostela, Spain completing journey #2.

I love this city! It’s stunningly beautiful and the Cathedral is breathtaking!

The best thing I love about is watching hikers walk in after clocking brutal distances on foot. They do it all displaying human kindness at its best!

I also love meeting new friends and sharing time with them!

Here are some photos from Santiago and it’s many churches!

I am here for 3 nights before I visit A’ Coruna and Valencia. After that, my adventure ends and I return home.

I  have truly loved this trip. It is not just because of all the beautiful things I’ve seen , but most importantly, I got to reunite with three very special friends who mean the world to me. Angela, Helen, and George  are my hiking friends but most importantly, they are my Camino family!

Who would have ever thought that after meeting on Day 1 of our hike in 2015, that we would be friends for life?

I am ever grateful for all that I have in life and for being given the opportunity to hike across Spain!

Listen Everyone! Go get your shoes on and;

KEEP WALKING!
